Whether it be from special occasions, events, new hobbies (hello blog), blooming friendships, and even some permanent changes in my life, I have to say that 2014 was probably my busiest year (so you can tell I didn't go out a lot in the past), most emotionally packed, and definitely came with a few surprises here and there; some unwanted, some welcome with open arms. I never really try to label years as "good" or "bad", but as 2014 wraps up I can totally say there were way better things going on and people in my life than the past year. Even with the sad losses and unpleasant experiences, I am very grateful for the good things that happened in these twelve months. I don't think I've ever been in such a great place mentally and I can truly say that I look forward to 2015 and hope for even better days ahead. The people I've met and the experiences I've gone through have made me more grateful than ever and have taught me valuable lessons that have helped me grow.
Soooo, now that I got all my mushy feelings aside, I just wanted to make a post that would "close" the year, and what better way to do that than in pictures? I know there's a big "Insta Week" trend, but I don't upload that many pictures a week for that kind of post to happen, so I decided to make an Insta Year collage. I chose some of my favorite pictures off my Instagram, either based on the way they looked, the people in them or just the memory of the experience as a whole. It was a bit hard and I left out some great experiences for the sake of the collage being twelve pictures representing each month (even if some are from the same one), but it totally helped me remember all the great things from this year I somehow forgot.
Happy New Year's everyone, and best wishes for 2015!
I had to, sorry.
