Farbod Barsum

I've recently been introduced to a very interesting handbag/acessories brand. It's called Farbod Barsum, named after the very won designer who creates them. Founded in 2010, Farbod hand selects the materials that are going to be used on each product. Aside from being handmade by master artisans, the elements incorporated in the pieces garner this attention as well. Custom hardware is hand cast and polished one piece at a time.
Another interesting feature is how the design house pioneered many innovations in the exotics industry. Namely, the brand invented a signature combination of the use of two or more different exotics on one bag. This evolved further with the extensive use of signature color blocking of exotics. Major international fashion houses have all followed suit and emulated this style.
Barsum bags were the first to incorporate Swarovski Crystals and Feathers on Exotics. They were also the first to source and implement materials in a couture level such as the use of fused ostrich leg panels and Pirarucu fish skin.
The wearable art concept of Barsum bags transforms exceptionally rare materials and adapts them for use in every day life.

The brand seemed really well developed, and while I initially thought they might be an indie type of brand, I was surprised to find that they are actually very popular, especially around very famous costumers. Since they are based in Beverly Hills, they have a very sophisticated list of people using their handbags, you can actually see all the celebs that use them in this page here.

While clearly an established brand, it definitely seems like they still have a lot of groundwork and can definitely expand further into new areas, and many even in the feature create new lines of accessories. Be sure to check out their women's lizard skin wallets, their alligator skin clutches (my personal favorites), or just check out their whole line of merchandise on Farbod Barsum.
